Unfortunately, the November Kampout to Ventura KOA was cancelled. But some enthusiastic kampers decided to make an “unofficial” trip to the Rincon – from November 12th through the 15th. The Rincon is on the beach just north of Ventura. Our kampers included Patty Bauman and Jimmy Miller, John Puckett, Jim Porter and Sherri Jones, and Joe and Judy Nemtusak. Jim and Kathy Moye drove up to visit our kampers for a day.
In true California style, the weather was perfect – warm with no wind – just like summer. In fact, two of our hardy kampers, John Puckett and Sheri Jones ventured out into the ocean to do some body surfing. They said the water was fine and not too cold, which is unusual for November.
One day, three of our kampers – Jim, Sheri and John – took a bike ride to Faria Beach to refresh ice for the group. It was a beautiful ride along the shore. During the day, games of Ladder Toss were played by all. At night, bonfires on the beach were a must, and enjoyed by everyone.
This unexpected trip was so much fun, that a note went out to all kampers to make their reservations for next year. We can’t wait for that trip.
The El Konejo Kamper Holiday Brunch is just around the corner – December 10th – at the Los Robles Greens Sunset Ballroom. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the Lodge Bar. This is always a fun and exciting event with good food and raffles. This year, we have two TV sets, as well as many other delightful gifts, to raffle away. We look forward to everyone joining us for this enjoyable event.
