Our kampers for the Vista Kampout included Alan and Trisha Ito (Wagonmaster), Virginia Grindley, Jim and Kathy Moye, Patty Bauman and Jimmy Miller, Rik & Shirste Gessler, Cheryl Templeton and John Puckett. Although not camping with us, Jim Porter and Sherri Jones joined us on Friday and Saturday for fun activities.
On Friday afternoon, some of the Kampers went to Stone Brewery for a tour and were able to taste four of the beers. On the way back to the Vista Lodge, we stopped at Belching Beaver to enjoy a couple more tastings.
On Saturday, a couple of kampers went to Del Mar Racetrack and returned with money in their pockets.
Although a bit hot, the lodge provided a covered patio area where the Kampers enjoyed games of Left, Right, Center and other dice games, as well as lots of good food.
As the sun was setting, we were able to get in a quick game of horseshoes. When the heat got too much, we ventured inside the lodge to play shuffleboard. Competition was fierce, but fun was had by all.
Many of the kampers friends and family living in and around Vista were able to stop by and visit with us. They all agreed that it was good to catch up with their old friends and siblings.
The winner of the 50/50 drawing was Alan Ito, who also won a free kampout. Kathy Moye won the second free kampout. We are all looking forward to our return trip to Vista next August.
